Ryan Leonard wants to amend the agenda to include a comment section before the marijuana ruling 11.4... Dick Brown votes no, throwing a bitch fit bc he's tried to amend the agenda in the past and was denied, as it was already discussed and approved back in December 2021 that agendas wouldn't be amended in meeting. This time is allowed bc it's just a comment section before something, not a new issue.

Some discussion about the distance from 'front door to front door' Attorney Thall comes up to say that the ordinance doesn't specify door to door, it measures a spot on the road adjacent to the building, 

[1:23:40] Bishop Richard Bailey speaks, saying he seriously objects to the weed shop being built next to their church. 

[1:25:00] Chris Kerry - "I feel bad for the guy driving from Zeeland... I'm w the reverend. There's enough marijuana on that road..."

[1:28:00] Gavin Powell - "I'm all 420 friendly... but I agree, I'm all in support of the bishop. The previous board, more than 4 years ago voted for 33 weed licenses here. The current board is trying to get that way down but we still have 18 weed licenses... there's a lot, you only need a few. I'm all for ppl running their own businesses, but we have a lot of weed here."

[1:40:30] Austin Suedemyer - supports the Bishop but wants to know what is happening w that building. 

[1:41:00] building rep - "I'm not up here representing personal thoughts or feelings... if you think any of of these facilities are giving bad products, call our office. They have a group, they will be there immediately. They don't have anything to do, they will be here to police them. They will bust them down so quick it makes your head spin, I've seen it happen. All you have to do is make the call they'll be there... you created an area where you wanted marijuana to happen so they would fix up these old, decrepit buildings. Everybody has done that throughout the state... I can tell you these marijuana ppl have not been easy to work with. None of them hit their deadlines, they all make promises...

Bishop Richard Bailey - thanks for board and the ppl who showed up today to stand in solidarity w the church.

[1:53: 30] Heather Rocho asks everybody who is running to stand up so ppl can ask them questions afterwards. Mad about an NDA agreement signed by the boad regarding the megasite. 

[1:56:35] Esther Leonard - "Just as a matter of clarification, NDA is a non-disclosure agreement, and they happen in many industries. In real estate we see them all the time. It doesn't mean that you're in kahoots with someone... it means you're being shown information such as a business plan or inventory that you can't disclose to somebody else. It does not mean someone is in kahoots. idk the specifics of the situation... I just wanted to clarify for the general public. An NDA is not always a super secret slimy thing." 

[1:57:35] Autumn Smith - the things in the NDAs deal w the public water supply... "they are hiding things and claiming terroristic threats..." the Chinese communist party is going to steal our water through the megasite.

[2:00:30]  Lee Justice - "concerned about water going to that foreign country... the last supervisor on this committee, he promised to fight for us, guess what, he didn't do nothing for us... why should we run water to another township?" Also mad about motorcycles going up and down his road. 

Barry Adams - Reads a letter sent from Lansing, talking about the megasite. 

[2:07:00] Rebecca Sebring - from Marshall, talking about the "worldwide takeover... Engaging with a foreign entity." Mad about Biden admin, electric cars. Solar panels give off 'black radiation'. "don't be played by the bad guy" while wearing a Trump 2024 shirt. 

[2:10:15] "why is Emmett township the only township that doesn't have storm warning sirens?" Wants to put some up for the township

Bob Coward - Biden admin giving billions directly to China for the Megasite. "You don't sign an NDA unless you give something... we've got 800 Chinese coming to work this plant... guess what, they're all going to be on that board." 

[2:13:45] Rick Newcome - Talks about Governor Whitmer, Obama back in 2008. Says battery companies are laundering money. "Communist Ford... why do we let our natural resources go to CHINA?"

Chris Kerry - Thanks for not passing the marijuana thing, I don't like the road stuff on my road. Worried about the river, hope it stays safe.

Deb Belles - doing a meet and greet, I have discussed storm sirens in the past but the board denied it. I don't work w of the ppl involved w the megasite, I haven't signed anything and am not working w the Chinese. The state required the waterloop, so I said they had to pay for it.

sept 9th, 2021 Tonight's board meeting was quite the doozy, here is a rough summary of what was discussed that might apply to those interested. -Public comments regarding noise being made by construction on certain roads, as well as Zaharion automotive having an excess of cars on their lot that have just been sitting there? Both issues are being addressed. -Deb proposed a wage study to make sure our public servants are being paid appropriately in the event that some ppl are making more (or less) than their position would reckon. Tracy, Rachelle, Dick Brown and Jim Mead were all against it, citing a misuse of taxpayers dollars, but it doesn't use taxpayer money and instead is money awarded by the state to be used freely. -Sewer rates are going up because the state wants to make greater strides towards being ecofriendly. -This was the final zoom meeting, all meetings from now on will be in person (though there was a suggestion to do them via facebook live?) -Summer ta...

Sept 8th, 2022

 September 8th 2022 Another meeting dragged out due to elected members failing to understand the cost of things or how townships operate. We enter the scene with Dick Brown complaining about the cost of construction on the front of the office, the removal of the awnings and how he, or the other trustees, had no say in the voting/approval of the process (as the cost was under $5k, which is the threshold for it being an action item on the monthly agenda). I don't believe Dick has any knowledge or understanding in regards to construction or the pricing thereof, but a lot of these items are simply things that can't or shouldn't wait for a once a month board meeting to be voted on (by individuals with no background knowledge regarding these subjects) before they can start working on them. There was also the complaint regarding the $195/mo ad spending paid for by the supervisor out of her budget, which is being done on a monthly trial basis and will end within the next few months...
