This month's meeting was pleasantly short, both Treasurer and Chief were absent

Before the meeting begins Supervisor Belles reminded everybody that public comments can be made at the beginning of the meeting and at the end during these public comment times listed on the agenda

[0:02:50]Heather Rocco is up for public comments again, "congratulations, Emmett Township... you have been the most transparent... by having AccessVision here, everybody has the ability to see,--to go back and look at it again, there are no questions that can't be answered... Do not change that."

She was also concerned about the chief being absent today "sad to see that officer Cunningham isn't here.", as she had looked into his request for money for his trip and had some questions regarding the details. She states that he was notified of the death in November of 2022, but didn't request funds until may 11, the day of the meeting and the Thursday before the weekend. "it feels like a misappropriation of funds to me, and those are my monies."

Also mentions the megasite. "it's not just a problem for Marshall or Ceresco... this is a land grab"

Lonnie Root asked if we had to upgrade sewer for Marshall, we do not.

[0:11:15] Dick brown is the only no vote on the Agenda, then asks to explain why he voted no. "I said no bc did it go thru the right group to get it approved to go thru to the agenda?" and brings up the issue with Chief's agenda mishap two months ago.

[0:13:20] supervisor report

Grass is like ice on the road for cyclist, so please try and keep your mowed grass in your yard.
Also mentions that if the grass in your yard is 6 inches or higher they can come mow it, and charge you. If you do notice that one of your neighbors isn't keeping up on their yard, though, maybe that's a red flag for other issues going on? If they're elderly perhaps consider checking on them.

remind trustees always welcome to call office n get questions answered instead of asking them at the board meetings

[0:22:45] clerk report

[0:24:00] treasurer's report, he's gone today

[0:25:00] "So as many of you know... the records have not been kept up or completed w all of our assessing records on each property in the township so he has been working very diligently on completing those... and one of them in part is taking a picture of every single structure so it can be uploaded in the system..."

32:00 chief copy/pasted his summary?

[33] unfinished business, action items

yes on all 3 ordinances, and approval of weed license and chip seal agreements for additional routes

[00:38:40] Trustee Brown raises concern why him and Trustee Mead are not consulted during interviews/hiring "you continuously avoid [Jim Mead] and myself... we would like to be on this interviewing once in a while too."

Supervisor Belles states that she trusts the opinion on both trustee Titus and Juhnke, both of them being businessmen with a lot of experience hiring and interviewing applicants, in addition to the Treasurer or Clerk.

[0:40:20] Public comments

"just wanted to reach out and thank you... Daryll Jameson representing KSD"

Heather Rocco: Thanks to Trusteee Brown for getting his name, and for complimenting Supervisor Belles. "...I do believe [hiring] should be made w input from each constituent."

Heather said she has made calls to the township about her father in law not getting a flag, Clerk Myers keeps telling her it's in the books for next year and it still doesn't happen. I guess this has been an issue for a while and Heather is not a fan of the disrespect shown to her FIL.

"as you all know I've made the loop of municipalities in the last month... can you even imagine you go into a township where you pay your taxes and you hear 'oh, wow, you stirred up trouble didn't you?' this was said to me. It's funny that the clerks of all 3 municipalities had conversation and spoke about 'the bitch in Ceresco'. I think the lack of professionalism is unacceptable...

Gavin Powell: this nerd raised concern over Trustee Brown's no vote on the agenda, stating that he approved the decision to not allow agendas being altered on the day of, but for a tabling for the next month's meeting (I believe this was during the Dec '21 board meeting). Now he is holding up meetings to complain about why the chief wasn't allowed to do that during the April meeting? Bro what is going on? If this was a one time thing it wouldn't be so bad, but it's happening like every other month, now. "you want to be involved in the other processes, interviews, but you can't even remember stuff you're doing here at the board meetings."

[0:49:35] board comments:

Jim Mead talks about Flag day coming up, June 14th, inquires about having another 'clean up day' in the fall. Supervisor Belles remarks the amount of grief she got over the first one she tried hosting, and didn't want to push her luck doing it twice a year, but she's had a few residents reach out about that so she would be open to doing that.

Titus expresses gratitude for board members coming together to look at plans regarding the road maintenance, as well as Chris Dopp's knowledge on the process.

Clerk Myers and Trustee Juhnke congratulate the new graduates

Deb offers condolences to Phil Sudemyer, retired BC teacher who passed away
