Wow, I think this was the shortest meeting I've ever attended. Not a whole lot to go over today.
Right
from the start there were some individuals who came up for public
comment. An older woman asking about weed $ (which was addressed at last
month's meeting, but I will post the snippet again).
She
also voiced concern over the ease of access when using the township
website, and her difficulty in quickly and easily finding information
regarding the township meetings... This is something I've had issues
with, too, and it makes it very difficult for older, less
technologically inclined persons to navigate and find the info they're
looking for. Hopefully we can find a solution for this in the future but
for right now I think there's not much to be done about it.
The
weed business across from the casino attended the meeting to inquire
about getting a stoplight put up at the area right outside the casino as
there have been several accidents there recently. Unfortunately that
road is a state road and any issues would need to go to MDOT but they
take their sweet time when addressing anything.
Some arrests have
been made and Deb made a public announcement to commend the two
officers who found some culprits responsible for some of the marijuana
break-ins the last year.
Jim Mead voting no again on things
he doesn't know about... when questioned as to why he votes no, he
claims that his legal counsel advised him to do so, so I imagine we can
only expect more obstruction and holdups from him throughout the year.
Dick Brown using his comment period to complain about his neighbors,
again, though I'm not sure how it pertained to the township, but
otherwise everybody behaved amicably.
